Nashville, TN (March 5, 2026) — Nashville-based songwriter, producer, and musician Kyle Ryan, under the alias Junior Pro, releases his third single “Coq au Vin” via Easy Does It Records.
Leaning into romance, irony, and the fragile architecture of hope, “Coq au vin” continues the unfolding world of Junior Pro. Recorded alone, once again, at Wardenclyffe South, the track balances cinematic intimacy with emotional restraint while also prioritizing mood and narrative over immediacy.
“Coq au Vin is a fantasy, blueprints for the naive,” shares Kyle Ryan. “It was originally written for a short film about the instagram vs reality of motherhood, but it became a musing on the stupid hope that makes La vie en rose! It is, of course, impossible or is it?”
Ryan’s musical foundation began in pre-internet Lincoln, Nebraska, where he balanced playing NOFX covers in middle school basements with studying Duke Ellington charts for country club cocktail gigs. He relocated to Nashville in 2006 as part of a songwriting duo with Madi Diaz, and since then has remained quietly embedded in the city’s indie pop ecosystem.
As a writer and producer, Ryan has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Kacey Musgraves, Natalie Prass, Liza Anne, Dr. Dog, Molly Tuttle, Josh Gilligan, Eric Slick, Mikky Ekko, Nikki Lane, and Morgxn. He toured with Kacey Musgraves for over a decade as her Musical Director, and contributed to the production of A Very Kacey Christmas and its accompanying television special.
Under the Junior Pro project, Ryan channels decades of genre-spanning experience into work shaped by instinct and emotional clarity rather than trend. “Coq au Vin” further expands the works of Junior Pro, with an upcoming collaboration featuring Natalie Prass slated to follow.
