THE VISUAL CAPTURES THE DISSONANCE BETWEEN CONNECTION AND INTROSPECTION INSIDE A DREAMLIKE HOUSE PARTY
Brooklyn, NY (March 11, 2026) — Brooklyn-based indie project Ok Cowgirl releases the official music video for their single “It Wasn’t You, It Was The Feeling,” out now via Easy Does It Records. Produced and mixed by Alex Farrar (MJ Lenderman, Wednesday, Indigo De Souza), the track explores the blurred line between infatuation and emotional clarity, a realization that the rush of connection can sometimes be mistaken for the person themselves.
Filmed inside front-woman Leah Lavigne’s Brooklyn loft, the video transforms the space into a nostalgic 2016-style house party, using intimate, lo-fi visuals to mirror the song’s internal dialogue. While the party unfolds around her, Lavigne drifts through the room detached from the moment, capturing the familiar sensation of being physically present but mentally somewhere else entirely.
“With this video, I wanted to portray the feeling of being at a party but being stuck in your head. You know, when you’re just going through the motions while being lost in your own thoughts," says Lavigne. “The chorus brings this realization that the thing I am longing for isn’t a specific person, but rather just the feeling of connection. With this clarity, I am set free from a cloud of confusion and hurt, which enables me to be present - and this opens me up to that feeling of connection that I had been seeking.”
Flowing between rose-colored infatuation and quiet self-awareness, “It Wasn’t You, It Was The Feeling” blends shimmering indie pop textures with reflective storytelling. The music video deepens that emotional arc, translating the song’s internal unraveling into a visual narrative of clarity emerging from chaos.
