CHICAGO INDIE DUO SIDE HUG UNVEILS MOODY, ATMOSPHERIC DEBUT ALBUM NEW LANGUAGE TODAY VIA EASY DOES IT RECORDS

New York, NY (October 31, 2025) – Chicago-based indie outfit Side Hug releases their debut album, New Language, alongside the official music video for “Temporary,” via Easy Does It Records. “Temporary is about getting sober and the messy, stop-and-start process of trying to change my life,” said the duo. “The opening line comes from the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book, setting a weary but hopeful tone for the rest of the song. I wanted to capture that feeling of being stuck and beaten down, but not giving up. Even the hardest moments don’t last — they’re temporary.”
Leading up to the album’s release, Side Hug unveiled a series of singles that showcase the band’s evolving sound and lyrical focus on change and self-discovery. “Temporary” offers an uplifting reminder that difficult moments don’t last forever, while “Biweekly” reflects on the search for meaning beyond the grind of a routine paycheck. “Everyone Else” delivers a hazy, melodic meditation on moving past previous relationships, and the latest single, “These Days,” captures the process of forging a new path and embracing personal growth.
